Watchhouse Palace Theatre St. Paul

Watchhouse plays beautiful show at Palace Theatre

Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange) played a lovely and smooth folk-rock set to a small but enthusiastic crowd at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul. Supporting their 2021 self-titled release, the duo of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz were accompanied by a full band and sounded absolutely fantastic. Although the Palace Theatre was only about half-full, Watchhouse delivered a smooth set and were entirely grateful for those in attendance.

The song “Wildfire” was goosebump-inducing and a major highlight of the show, with Marlin’s easy voice ringing smoothly through the Palace Theatre. “Nightbird” from the new album also sounded fantastic. Watchhouse has come a long way since their early days as Mandolin Orange, and the folk sound they bring has a depth to it that is hard to match in the genre. Do yourself a favor and see them live when you get a chance. Watchhouse’s show at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul was beautiful.
