Warbly Jets hit 7th Street Entry with new Propaganda EP

Warbly Jets kicked off their show at 7th Street Entry with an ultra-heavy version of “The Lowdown” from their excellent 2017 self-titled debut album. Singer Samuel Shea paced the edge of the small stage, daring the crowd to raise the energy. The song was stunning, as was their hit single “Alive” that came up next.

Working in several songs from their just released Propaganda EP, the energy wavered as the crowd heard many songs for the first time. The new tunes have a different feel from their debut, pushing a neo-shoegaze sound with heavy ethereal vibes running strong. “Propaganda” sounded great, but I was less impressed with the heavily-sampled “Cool Kill Machine”.

In all, Los Angeles based Warbly Jets rocked 7th Street Entry with a short but stellar show. Definitely check them out, and I hope they return to the Twin Cities again soon. Here’s a review from when they opened for Liam Gallagher at First Avenue.
