Temples mesmerize First Avenue in Minneapolis

Kettering, UK based psychedelic rock band Temples brought their 60s influenced sound to First Avenue in Minneapolis. Their 2014 debut release Sun Structures is excellent, but if the new songs they played at First Avenue are any indication, their follow up effort is going to be something special. At times playing much heavier than the somewhat summery vibe of Sun Structures, the four-piece was tight, hitting hard from the start. First Avenue wasn’t full, but the crowd in attendance was fully engaged throughout the show, bouncing along to every song.

Before the encore, Temples rocked an extended jam of “Mesmerize” from Sun Structures, leaving the crowd humming along to the groove through the encore break. It was a definite highlight of an overall exceptional performance by the UK band.
