Interpol rocks Palace Theatre in St. Paul with solid set
When one thinks of the modern New York City rock sound, Interpol has to come to mind. With a distinct sound that’s all east coast, the band has been touring in support of their 2018 release Marauder and made a stop at Palace Theatre in St. Paul, MN on a very snowy winter night. The Palace was near capacity by the time Sunflower Bean finished an awesome high-energy opening set.
Interpol sounded solid from the start, and their strobe-heavy stage lights were mesmerizing and a photographer’s dream at times. Singer Paul Banks donned sunglasses throughout the performance and rocked with ease through highlights like “The Rover” from Marauder and “The New” from their incredible debut Turn On The Bright Lights.
The night ended with “Evil” from their excellent 2004 sophomore album Antics. It was a great ending to a very good show, and it brought some heat to an otherwise blustery Tuesday night in St. Paul, MN.
