The String Cheese Incident at Palace Theatre night 2 review
The String Cheese Incident returned to St. Paul, MN for the first time in eighteen years with a two night stand at the recently reopened Palace Theatre. Kicking off their spring tour behind the upcoming release of their album Believe, the esteemed Colorado jamband nearly filled the Palace and rocked out a fantastically fun performance on night two.
The String Cheese Incident has a cultish following, and I’m not sure I’ve ever met a kinder group of fans. I spoke with locals, and fans who traveled from New York, Colorado, California, and Arizona. All were incredibly sincere in their love of the music and friendly to those around them. And that connecting energy creates contagious flow between the band and the crowd where dancing your ass off soon becomes inevitable. “Best Feeling” into Bob Marley’s “Exodus” was a huge highlight of the first set. From the middle of the crowd, it really did feel like the best feeling.
It’s been several years since I’ve seen SCI live, and it didn’t take long to remember what I’ve been missing. On night two at Palace Theatre the band did what they do best. They played a stellar show leaving the fans yearning for more.
