Slowdive rocks sonic set at Palace Theatre in St. Paul
Slowdive is back with their first new album in twenty two years. The self-titled release is out May 5, 2017 on Dead Oceans, and the band hit Palace Theatre in St. Paul with a sonic set backed by an awesome ambient light show.
Waves of melodic guitar and heavy bass lines filled the Palace, and the mostly middle-aged seemed enthralled, eating up the beautiful tones with attentiveness. While most songs were slow and heavy like the first time played live “Slomo”, “Star Roving” from the new album stood out with an upbeat rock groove and catchy verse hook. It was a huge highlight of the show.
Slowdive sounded absolutely fantastic at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul. It is wonderful to have the British shoegazers back in top form.
