moe. at First Avenue in Minneapolis
Perennial superhero jamband moe. was back at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. The concert was moved to the mainroom from Pantages Theatre, and a comfortably full crowd was treated to two sets of solid rock goodness. The band, having been around since 1989, played like a well-oiled machine, driving through their set smoothly. The show didn’t peak and valley much, but rather it glided through a lot of older material with a smattering of new. Having not seen the band in several years, I found it funny how moe.’s sets still don’t change much. The cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time” was quite nice during the first set, and “Spine Of A Dog” >”Buster” >”Spaz Medicine” was a great way to start of the second set. That run of songs brought back memories and put a smile on my face. And I definitely wasn’t the only one smiling, as the polite crowd made up of a mix of middle-aged rockers and younger hippies grooved along all night.
After I left the show I felt good, and realized a little moe. goes a long way.
