Jamie Lidell headlines CB2 After Hours in Minneapolis

After the doors closed at CB2 in Uptown on Thursday, November 10, a party got started. English electro-soul singer Jamie Lidell headlined the Minneapolis stop of CB2’s new After Hours series. Opening the doors for a concert to a limited amount of people (who RSVP in advance) isn’t a bad idea, and adding free drinks and food is quite generous.

To start it off, guests sat around the edges, and perused the store as local dj Shannon Blowtorch played an awesome set. Then Jamie Lidell came on with his guitarist, and played an intimate 50-minute set with guests dancing around the small stage near the storefront.

Lidell played several songs from his just released album Building a Beginning, along with a few older tunes. His more upbeat electronic songs hit hardest, but the title track from Building a Beginning was quite stunning as well. Lidell is mostly know for his voice, and it shined.

CB2 After Hours is a great idea. Keep an eye out in your town for a possible event.
