Nashville Pussy and Dwarves at Triple Rock

If southern metal is your thing, there are few bands touring today that can match the raw grit of Nashville Pussy.  The four-piece from Atlanta, GA, made up of husband and wife Blaine Cartwright and Ruyter Suys on  guitars, Karen Cuda on bass, and Jeremy Thompson on drums, have made the road their home for nearly 15 years.  They brought that experience to the Triple Rock Social Club and played an awesome, yet all-too-short set while opening for the Dwarves.  Nashville Pussy’s set had the fists pumping and bodies boogieing from the beginning, as Blaine Cartwright wailed on about booze, women, and drugs with guitar in hand.  When it was over, the mostly Nashville Pussy crowd looked around in a daze, wondering how it all ended so soon.

Longtime hardcore punkers, the Dwarves, headlined the show.  Led by the tall and wiry, Blag Dahlia, the band ripped through their tunes with vengeance.  By the second song, the floor was a moving pit of thrashing bodies, as Dahlia and the rest hammered on double time.  They were loud and raucous.

Opening the night was Atlanta, GA band, Dick Delicious and the Tasty Testicles.  Although the following acts weren’t exactly music you’d want to listen to with your grandma, no one could match the intentional immature vulgarity put forth by this band.
