Japandroids finish tour at The Entry in Minneapolis

Holy shit Japandroids are on fire!

The garage-rocking duo from Vancouver, Canada powered through an hour and a half long set at 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis on Tuesday, July 3rd 2012 to finalize  their nearly two month long tour. In support of their sophomore release Celebration Rock, the duo encouraged a festive rock atmosphere from the initial strum of the guitar by singer/guitarist Brian King. The band then proceeded to raise the roof, and set the place on fire, with the sold out crowd rocking along respectfully to every tune.

The release of Celebration Rock has brought on many new fans, and this will undoubtedly be the last time they play such a small venue in the Twin Cities. That is, unless, King keeps his promise and returns to the Turf Club in St. Paul for a free show, in hopes of redeeming the 2009 drunken disaster that he can’t still not forgive himself for. After a month long break, a tour of Europe is up next for the band. This was by far one of the top shows I’ve seen this year. What a treat!

Fellow Canadian, Cadence Weapon, opened the show with a bass-heavy set of hip-hop. His passion and energy made up for a rather boring sound.
